minutesThese are super soft and are perfect for a cozy Fall morning! Although making homemade cinnamon rolls maybe intimidating these are rather easy! Full recipe below.Â
Ingredients
- Dough:Â
*1 cup warm milk
*2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast, standard packageÂ
*3 tbsp brown sugar
*6 tbsp unsalted butter, softenedÂ
*3Â eggs
*4 cups flour, separatedÂ- Filling:
*1/2 cup light brown sugar
*1/2 cup granulated sugar
*2 tbsp apple pie spiceÂ
*4 tbsp unsalted butter, softenedÂ
*2 red apples, dicedÂ- Frosting Hack:
*1 jar cream cheese frosting
*1 1/2 tbsp cinnamon
*2 tbsp caramel sauce, plus extra to drizzleÂ
Directions
- Warm milk to 110°F. Add yeast and brown sugar and let sit for 10 minutes. Mixture will be foamy.Â
- Add in butter, eggs, and 1 cup of flour. Mix on low speed and slow add remaining flour one cup at a time to mixture till fully incorporated. Mix for a 6 minutes on medium speed till ball forms.
Put dough in a greased bowl. Place towel over bowl and put in a warm place for 90 minutes. - While dough is rising combine sugars and apple pie spice. Set aside. Dice up apples and set aside.Â
Once dough has doubled in size, punch down. Roll dough out on a floured surface into a rectangular shape. Spread softened butter leaving a rim around the dough. Sprinkle sugar mixture and evenly spread diced apples. Roll dough tightly together into a log shape. Cut 8 large rolls with a sharp knife and place rolls in a greased 9×13 baking dish. Cover dish with a towel and let them rise for another 30-45 minutes till double in size. - Bake at 350 degrees F for 25 minutes till golden brown. While baking, make frosting by combining cream cheese frosting, cinnamon and caramel together in a small bowl, mix together with a spoon. Spread over warm rolls and enjoy!Â
