- Donuts
1/2 cup of diced fresh strawberries
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/2 tsp salt
1 Lg egg
1 1/4 cups whole milk
2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
1 tsp pure vanilla extract- Topping
1/4 cup sugar
1/3 cup diced strawberries
Splash of water
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease donut pans.
- Into a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, and vanilla. Dice up strawberries into small chunks and combine dry+ wet ingredients and strawberries together till combine. We use a stand mixer for the donuts but you do not have to.
- Pipe the batter into the baking pans, filling each one a little more than three-quarters full. Bake for 12 minutes, until donuts rise. These donuts will look a little sticky at top till they cool. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the doughnuts out onto a sheet pan.
- For the topping, blend strawberries, 1 tbsp of sugar, and a splash of water till you have strawberry juice. Put aside. Sprinkle remaining of sugar on top of your donuts and then drizzle strawberry juice on top! Enjoy!
