These Cinnamon Sugar Donuts are so yummy and perfect for Valentines!

Ingredients

  • * 1 cup milk, 110 degrees F
    * 2¼ tsp active dry yeast, 1 packet
    * 8 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
    * 1/4 cup granulated sugar
    * 1 tsp cinnamon
    * 1/2 tsp nutmeg
    * 1 tsp vanilla extract
    * 2 eggs + 1 egg yolk
    * 3 1/2 cup flour, extra for rolling
    * 1 tbsp oil for bowl
    * 6 cups vegetable oil for frying
    * 1 cup cinnamon sugar
    * 1/2 cup Nutella

Directions

  • Combine lukewarm milk and yeast and let it sit for 10 minutes till it activates.
  • In a stand-in mixing bowl whisk together melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla extract. Mix in eggs.
  • Add in yeast mixture and continue to whisk on medium speed.
  • Switch mixer to dough hook. Add in flour. It’s a soft dough. Put in a greased oil bowl and cover with plastic wrap and a towel. Put dough in a warm place for 90 minutes to rise till it’s double in size.
  • Remove dough from bowl and roll out with rolling pin. Using a heart shape cookie cutter cut heart shape donuts and put on a parchment paper cookie sheet and let them rise for 30 more minutes, covered with a towel.
  • While dough is rising heat oil to 350°F. Fry donut two minutes on each side till golden brown. Sprinkle in cinnamon sugar and pipe Nutella in donut. Enjoy!
